UPDATE: As some already know Nicole passed away this morning July 18th, 2018, this wasn't how I pictured this fight going and it saddens me that she is no longer with us, but she is not in pain or suffering anymore. I thank everyone that joined in and donated in support of Nicole and what she loved, the world has lost one of the most kind hearted and positive people I've had the pleasure knowing. We were able to cover the cost of her funeral bill via your donations and the remainder was donated to the American Cancer Society & Colorectal Cancer Alliance. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers, she definitely was not fighting alone and she appreciated every one of you.

We will be doing a 15K Run, Ruck, & Bike (virtual) fundraiser to help fight cancer and remember an amazing person. This 15K virtual race has 3 things that Nicole loves, a 5K Run, 5K Ruck, and 5K Bike. If you do not have the ability to do one or two of the three actives you can split up the distance among the ones you are able to do. Knock the 15K out all at once or do them separately. Thank you for any and all help supporting Nicole. Below is the message I was sent by Nicole when she informed us of her situation...

"Hey. I wanted to let you know some information. I have been diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer. I had no signs, I had done a race 2 weeks before I went to the ER for some pain and they came back saying I had masses on my colon and liver. That visit was Feb 16th, I met with a colon dr the 19th, colonoscopy 20th, next thing I know surgery the 22nd, I had 18” of my colon removed with my appendix and part of my small intestine. I stayed in Hospital till the 26th. Back into the ER March 12th and they then found pulmonary embolisms (multiple tiny blood clots in the bottoms of both lungs). I get fevers almost daily, they say it is from clots and cancer. Got released from Hospital once again March 15th, met with oncologist. Had more blood work, and a PET/CT March 26th. Met again with him yesterday, good news is the PET/CT did not show any other surprises so just dealing with the cancer I have for now. The cancer had metastasis to the liver. They say my liver function is functioning close to normal but the mass is completely all over it. First chemo treatment is Monday next week. I’m being strong and positive but any positive vibes or prayers you want to send, I would appreciate it. If you want to share in CARC I’m ok with that too. I just haven’t posted anything on my page, but I love the group."
